We’d like to say a big congratulations to everyone receiving their GCSE results today!
One thing is for certain: the hard work is finally over. Now is the time to enjoy the moment, no matter what your results are. Remember that you have plenty of options available to you, along with lots of support should you feel the need to discuss your results and the next steps.
Surrounding yourself with lots of positive people when you first open your results may be the best option for you, however, it is just as healthy to want to open them on your own. Whatever you decide, make sure you remain calm and try not to panic!
Understanding your results is important when assessing your next steps. You may already have a good idea of what you want to do and the results you need to achieve this, but if you’re struggling to understand your results, have someone go through things with you – ask your teacher; they’re there to help.
Also, if you don’t get the results you’re expecting, don’t worry. Speak to your teachers or family members to work out your next steps. We know that it can be disheartening not to get the results you want, but there is always the option to retake your core exams in Maths and English.
Whatever happens, keep yourself relaxed, and whether it’s good or bad news, spend the evening doing something you enjoy. This will help you to de-stress, so your routine doesn’t suffer and you get the best night’s sleep possible.
