What is a medium small single mattress?
This mattress is the smallest size we feature, indicating just how little space a small single mattress will likely occupy. These mattresses are fantastic space-saving solutions for anyone who sleeps alone in a bedroom with restricted space. A small single mattress is also ideal for a guest room; as these rooms aren't occupied as frequently as the other bedrooms within the house, there often isn't the need to purchase a larger bed and mattress.
The term 'medium' relates to the mattress's tension; medium mattresses are designed to accommodate side sleepers as the soft surface can provide cushioned hip and shoulder support. Children's mattresses tend to feature a medium tension, and therefore, our collection, concerning both size and tension, is the perfect addition to a child's bedroom. If you're of a heavier stature or sleep on your front or back, we recommend a firmer mattress to evenly distribute body weight and support the spine.
Should I consider a small single mattress?
A small single mattress will likely be ideal if you sleep alone and prioritise greater floor space over a spacious sleeping surface. Conversely, if you share a bed or like to sprawl out, you will likely find a small single mattress unsuitable. Consider your sleeping requirements and whether a small single mattress can pave the way for a comfortable night's sleep. Moreover, suppose you're purchasing on behalf of a guest bedroom. In that case, it's important to consider whether one or two sleepers will likely occupy the spare bed before deciding which mattress size is best suited.
What mattresses does our collection consist of?
Open coil spring mattresses
Consider our range of open coil mattresses if you're looking for a mattress on the cheaper end of the spectrum that still offers excellent comfort and support. These mattresses tend to feature relatively inexpensive manufacturing costs, reflected in their prices. Open coil mattresses comprise a strong and robust steel coil woven into a series of springs to form the mattress's core, resulting in an even and comfortable sleeping surface.
Pocket sprung mattresses
If you're looking for your new sleeping solution to offer targeted support throughout the night, look no further than our pocket sprung options. These mattresses feature a series of springs enclosed within fabric pockets; each pocket spring reacts to individual body movements to alleviate pressure.
Memory foam mattresses
As with pocket sprung mattresses, memory foam centers around a tailored sleep experience. Memory foam adapts to the body's contours to provide sumptuous cushioned support. Once pressure has been removed from the surface, the mattress will revert to its original shape.
Latex mattresses
Whilst latex functions similarly to memory foam, latex is deemed more appropriate for anyone who sleeps hot. For all of the benefits of memory foam, the material is recognised for its heat retention properties. In contrast, latex is able to regulate temperature.
Natural fillings
Natural fillings are likely to offer greater comfort than synthetic fibres, which is why they're mainstays among premium mattresses. Cotton and wool are the most common natural fillings and are renowned for their temperature-regulating qualities. Other examples include cashmere and silk.
What brands form our collection?
The majority of our collection comprises mattresses from Hypnos, a brand renowned for its premium sleeping solutions, whilst we also feature mattresses from Shire Beds and Vegan Mattress.
